Welcome to read about digital marketing
I originally started this blog in January 2020 to practice writing and search engine optimization. At the same time, I wanted to build a place that would be genuinely useful for people interested in marketing. The goal is to bring thoughts, insights, and practical perspectives to the table from the viewpoint of a digital marketing specialist.
My interest in digital advertising really began to take shape in 2017 during my university of applied sciences studies. At the time, I was studying business administration and entrepreneurship at JAMK University of Applied Sciences’ Team Academy in Jyväskylä. Even back then, the goal was to work in digital marketing for client companies, although my skills were still developing.
But everyone has to start somewhere. Through a company founded with my fellow students, we took on different kinds of practical work until we were able to buy a shared camera and start offering commercial photography services to businesses. That later led to demand for video production and editing services as well.
The turning point came when a local gym in central Jyväskylä hired us to produce content and run paid social media advertising. At that point, it was time to put the camera aside and learn how Facebook advertising — now known as Meta advertising — really works.
What immediately fascinated me about digital marketing was how quickly the data gives feedback. Either the work produces results or it does not. From there, my focus gradually shifted away from creative production and more strongly toward performance-driven digital marketing.
As different projects came along, my expertise quickly expanded across platforms and tools such as Google Ads, WordPress, and HubSpot. After graduating in December 2019, I worked as a full-time entrepreneur for over a year, providing digital marketing services to clients I had already acquired earlier.
Later, the road took me to Tampere, where I have worked at two different marketing agencies planning and executing digital marketing for client companies. Over the years, I have built up seven years of experience in performance-driven digital marketing for companies of different sizes across multiple industries.
